Nzuri Energy's Flagship project is a 100MW Utility Scale Solar IPP project located in Kolwezi, Lualaba Province in the Katanga region in the south western part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”), with the following characteristics.
Solar PV using polycrystalline modules or as agreed between the parties to date.
100 MW installed capacity (~app 119 MWdc);
Grid connected via an approximately 8-km transmission line to the Kolwezi substation.
The Clean Power to be off-taken by Société Nationale d'Électricité (“SNEL”), the public vertically integrated utility with Head Quarters located in Kinshasa .
The mines in the Katanga region are expected to be the main beneficiaries of the bulk of the power generated by the solar plant, with plans to make access clean energy available to local communities within the surrounding Katanga region.
